For a long time, pickup trucks and electric vehicles have filled two completely opposite ends of the driving spectrum. But, with the announcement of an all-electric Silverado pickup, eco-conscious drivers can still get the power and utility they need from a pickup like the Silverado.
Earlier this year, General Motors President Mark Reuss announced that this groundbreaking electric truck would be built at the Factory ZERO assembly plant that is located in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. This is the same plant that will produce the new Hummer EV.
The revolutionary Silverado electric pickup will be built on the new Ultium Platform. Despite being redesigned from the ground up, the Silverado electric variant will not lose the durability and performance that Silverado pickups are known for. Even more impressive, General Motors estimates that an electric Silverado will be able to travel more than 400 miles on a single charge.*
GM will produce both fleet and retail versions of the all-electric Silverado, meaning you will be able to get behind the wheel of one when it arrives here at Bert Ogden Chevrolet in Mission, Texas. It will likely arrive for the 2023 or 2024 model year, though GM has not yet confirmed this.
